  • What is the Fourth Trimester?

The Fourth Trimester is defined as the 12-week period immediately after you have had your baby. Unfortunately even in this day and age with the amount of knowledge at our fingertips, not many expecting and new mums have even heard of this period, but every mother and their newborn baby will go through it. It is a time of great physical, mental and emotional change as your baby adjusts to life on the outside of the womb, and YOU adjust to your new life as a mum. It can also be referred to as your Matrescence, your transformation from woman to mother.

  • Who is this designed for?

This has specifically been designed for YOU, as a MUM in mind, to support you through your postpartum period - particularly your Fourth Trimester. Whether you're an expecting or new mum, this is ideal for helping you to rebuild yourself following your birth.

  • How can this help me?

This has been designed to help guide you into having a smooth transition into your motherhood. Becoming a mother can feel completely overwhelming. You may find you'll have feelings of guilt, anxiety and joy all at the same time. You may also find yourself feeling confused by the amount of contradictory information out there; worried that you aren't doing "enough"; wondering what is "normal;" be left feeling isolated; and perhaps embarrassed about opening up about certain topics (even to loved ones). Together let's work at stripping back your feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, and isolation.  Get ready to gain a newfound sense of confidence, control and and calm.

  • What this does NOT include...

This is not about baby, the resources in here are to support MUM. Society tells us that "A happy baby has a happy mumma," but fails to effectively support mum. THIS is YOUR support, mumma. This is YOUR hub. When a baby is born, so is the mother. It takes time for us to heal - physically, mentally and emotionally - and we need the RIGHT support to help us heal as fast as possible so we can in turn be the best versions of ourselves for US and our families. The experts that have provided the resources were specifically tasked with catering to the new mum in her Fourth Trimester period, so we can break the barrier of limited support for mum & work to reduce postpartum depression. Furthermore, this does NOT cover birth education - this has been designed for POST-birth support. The average birth is 12 hours long, however the Fourth Trimester is 3 MONTHS long... (not to mention the fact that everyone's postpartum journey varies, and the effects of postpartum can last up to 2+ YEARS if mumma is not properly supported). It's time for us to start talking about and taking postpartum seriously.

  • Is this a course or an online toolkit? How long will it take me to complete this?

Although this appears to look like a course, think of it as a hub filled with bite-sized masterclasses designed to cater to your needs during the postpartum phase (we understand new mums are time-poor!). Start off by reading the PDF in the 'Mumma, let's DO this!' introductory module to act as your guide (FREE to preview). You can then jump in between all the modules depending on what topic you're interested in learning about at that moment in time as it has been designed to meet your needs at any one time. The masterclasses range from understanding your motherhood identity & changing relationships, and provide you with actionable exercises you can work through to start thriving in these areas; to handy day-to-day essentials such as lactation-friendly recipes & a handy done-for-you shopping guide to ensure your nutrition needs are met; plus postpartum-friendly, safe-at-home physical exercises the respective professionals will take you through. You'll gain the best value by focusing on covering off ONE thing a day. This has not been designed for you to do-it-all-at-once. Simply give yourself the grace to work at things in your own time, be kind to yourself and know that you can continue to come back to these areas and repeat them as well. You'll continue to gain value and see results through repetition, so it's not 'over' if you've covered off an exercise - you can do it again and witness your transformation.

  • Tell me about Wild Beginnings?

Hi! I'm Pip, the original Fourth Trimester Course Creator & Facilitator. My story begins with me believing I was super prepared in becoming a mother having done the antenatal & hypnobirthing classes, but discovered that entering motherhood was WILD! And you know what, it is and always will be!.. But what I failed to understand, was just how unprepared I was for the postpartum period - in fact, I didn't even know that there was such a thing as the Fourth Trimester until I was IN IT! Through my personal struggles, challenges and frustrations with the lack of support new mothers tend to receive, I set off on my mission to make a change and empower new mums. So YOU, mumma, don't have to be another statistic who feels under-catered for. So you can THRIVE, not merely survive, in what truly is the most empowering period of your life. Catch you on the inside! Pip x
